Epoxy for Pet Owners

Whats the one thing pet owners hate about keeping their pets indoors?

Wet Accidents;  Puppy Puddles

There is nothing worse that the accumulated odorous stink of repeated pet “accidents” inside your home. Over time the amonias in urine sink down into the carpet and into the wood and the grout of your tile ultimately finding its way onto your concrete slab where atmospheric pressure and differing indoor and ground temperatures push the acids into your slab. Over time that urine build up can penetrate your slab as much as 2 -3 inches deep. Then when you least expect it, the seasons change and the ground temperature is cooler than the indoor temperature and all smell gets pushed back up to the surface. It feels like there’s nothing you can do.

We recently had a new homeowner call us to say they had purchased a home and moved in only to discover a lingering scent of wet dog. They had already had most of the carpet removed and replaced and were at the end of their rope and were literally ready to sell the house they just bought when they called us.

The goal in pet smell remediation is to create a barrier between the negative space above the slab and the dense sponge like texture of the slab itself. Todays moisture vapor barriers sink down into the slab penetrating the tiny catacombs and pores and crystallizing; this blocks off the passagesways by which vapor transmits up or down through the slab and eliminates pet odors once and for all.

As a double bonus, new pet puddles cant penetrate the barrier and can be easily wiped up 100% with no damage to the floor when you choose a decorative epoxy  finish over traditional flooring options such as carpet, tile or wood and unlike traditional options epoxy comes in literally a million different color options and textures including trending neutrals but also unbelievable options like glow in the dark, fluorescent and glitter.  Did somebody say DISCO?

Epoxy options are great for homeowners who want to combat puppy puddles but also guards against scratching paws and other maladies of the beloved family pet.

We have 2 Labradors and 4 Grandkids to prove that Big Dogs and Tonka Trucks love epoxy floor coatings.
